Documents the psychological effects of past persecution and the basis for fear of future persecution. The evaluation covers the history in the country of origin, the connection between the harm and the protected ground, and what happened after leaving, including stops and conditions along the way.
Documents the effects of abuse by a U.S. citizen or resident spouse, parent, or child, including battery and extreme cruelty. The evaluation addresses the dynamics of the relationship, including cases where the person stayed, returned, or delayed leaving, and the psychological factors behind those decisions.
Documents the effects of a qualifying crime on the applicant, including sustained mental and emotional harm after the incident. The evaluation also addresses the applicant's cooperation with law enforcement and the effect that process had on them.
Documents the trafficking experience and the symptoms that follow directly from it. The evaluation traces the applicant's current condition to the trafficking, describes the ongoing effects, and sets out what removal would mean for their recovery.
Documents the hardship a qualifying relative would face if the applicant were removed, denied entry, or if the family relocated. The evaluation addresses the relative's current stressors, the role the applicant plays in the family system, and how that system would be destabilized by separation or relocation.
